Why does cable even exist?

I pay $267 per month for xfinity and I get nothing because I love football but the Sunday Ticket is just way too expensive especially since im already paying $267 by itself so I cant afford to add any more bills. I got Amicus and paid one time and i get every channel imaginable. This is what tv should be like. Period. Lovin it. Soon ill get rid of my cable
